I don't think spending too much time on a computer effects your health because as long as you're being healthy most of the day it doesn't matter much.

I think that technology and computers is the future so why should schools turn them away when within 5-10 years everything will be computers?
Reply

9/18/2012 11:12:49 pm
I think people think that we can't get information from a book or write information down on a worksheet to get stuff done, and that we NEED to use a computer to actually complete any work or find research. but the thing is that it's just easier. Writing it down on paper isn't making the work we're doing any more complex, it's just annoying, and using a computer is way more convenient.

So is there a time and a place for different ways of doing things? Is writing with a pencil more like manual labour? As opposed to typing, which can happen much more quickly on a computer?

The teacher looking at whats on your screen is pretty much the same as walking around and looking at whats on your paper if your writing

9/18/2012 11:21:59 pm
But the thing is that you're not supposed to be doing private stuff on the computer like facebook, twitter, taking pictures of yourself ect. you're supposed to be doing your work. I think it's perfectly fine to be looking at what you're doing cause if you don't want the teacher seeing what your facebook status is, don't be on there.

T
9/18/2012 11:25:32 pm
Doesn't it feel like a bit much to have a camera directly on your face? What if you need to scratch your nose? Invasion of privacy? I wouldn't like it.
Korey
9/18/2012 11:32:53 pm
The camera doesn't look at the student, it just shows what is on their screen. They only saw the student because the student had the camera open and was looking at themselfves or taking pictures. If your doing your work then you dont have to worry about the teacher invading your privacy.

How about a mix of abilities? To be able to write, type, look info up online, speak to people directly (rather than through typing). Maybe no single way of doing things is the best.
